Messing about on the River

Oxford has a lovely stretch of the Thames. The Folly restaurant own very pretty boats. We were seated with good distancing. They come with a guide. Our Guide was very knowledgeable giving us lots of information we did not know before. The cruise is about 50 minutes. The cost is very reasonable. We had booked a table at their restaurant. We did a little sightseeing before our meal. The restaurant staff are very helpful and the meal was wonderful. We decided to eat in side because it was a little cooler than hoped. However the terrace is lovely. The restaurant is delightful. Lots of Knick knacks and old unusual pieces. There was a record deck on the windowsill with a very old LP on the deck. Would

Nice but very delayed

It was slightly better than average to be fair but not 4 star. We arrived at the Folly early but were shown to a second boat which then waited over 30 minutes for a guide/skipper to arrive. A very nice, knowledgeable lady called Alex came as a substitute for our guide who hadn't turned up. The river is beautiful and Alex knew lots about the boat houses etc. I would just say leave yourself plenty of time to allow for delays etc as the boat isn't terribly comfortable for a long wait.

Very warm welcome for the river boat cruise approx 50 minutes Alex was very good guide & she steered the boat herself whilst giving us information of the river & Oxford. We had really great weather & it was a relaxing way just to simply sit back & listen to the sounds of the river boats & wildlife Thankyou so much.

Lovely gentle boat trip.

What a lovely gentle boat trip. It was so gentle we were allowed to take our hot drinks onboard in China cups - no lids! Our host was great and had lots of good stories to regale along the way. However we were lucky with the weather, everything looked so pretty in the sunshine. There are worse ways to spend an hour!

Peaceful, pretty and relaxing.

Peaceful, pretty and relaxing. It’s a pity not to be able to see much more than trees, water, boathouses and college rowing depots. The river is low, the banks and grass etc are high so limited viewing. Enjoyable trip though.
