Stop At:
Chateau de Chambord
From Paris, you’ll head first to Château de Chambord. Disney fans will find this castle’s turrets familiar; it was the inspiration for the castle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed. You’ll learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide, before getting your own chance to explore. Climb a staircase supposedly designed by Da Vinci; enjoy spectacular turret-framed rooftop views; glimpse wild deer around the grounds; and work up an appetite for the next stop.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

Stop At:
Blois
Having worked up an appetite, we'll get back on the bus and on to our next stop - the quaint town of Blois, where you’ll get some free time to enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants located around the beautiful and vibrant Square Louis XII or grab a bite and visit the Royal castle of Blois on your own, notable for its unique mix of Medieval, Gothic, Renaissance and Classical architecture. This Royal castle once was the home of kings Louis XII and François I and presents a tragic history, as the place where Joan of Arc went to be blessed by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to drive the English from Orléans.
Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

Stop At:
Chateau de Chenonceau
Last but not least is a visit to the elegant Château de Chenonceau for wine tasting. The chapel, bedrooms and magnificent vaulted kitchens are still furnished and decorated from times gone by, showing off the castle’s many sweeping stone carvings. Don’t miss the impressive main hall, which spans the river Cher, or the gardens cultivated by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici – two of the famous owners that earned Chenonceau the nickname ‘the Ladies’ Château’. After a guided tour, you’ll have a choice: continue exploring, or indulge in a second wine tasting in the castle’s vaulted wine cellar. Three uniquely beautiful castles, good food and wine, all amid the scenery of the Loire Valley: this tour is a feast for the senses.

Exceptional tour and guide (Adie)

Excellent tour and the tour guide Adie was exceptional, great English and a wealth of knowledge. Very nice full size tour bus was used with ample leg room for my 6’4” frame! It is however a very long day, 12 hours for the 3 chateaus plus rest stops and lunch break. It is still very much worth the effort and money for this tour. Please be aware each of the 3 chateaus is 3-4 stories tall so LOTs of stairs to climb!

Stunning Loire Valley Castles

What an awesome day! We had the best co-guides, Addi and Sense (sp?) who were both so very upbeat, informative, and attentive. We really enjoyed the group dynamic they created, and they made a 12 hour day just fly by! We were amazed by how knowledgeable these two were and their enthusiasm for their subject matter. We highly recommend this tour, but make sure to request these wonderful young people. By the way, the landscape, towns, and castles are just stunning! Perfect trip to round out a Parisian holiday with a venture out of the city.

Good trip

The tour itinerary was good. The places visited were beautiful. The guide was good at explaining the history but he was not very good at engaging the crowd and was not very aproachable. The time management could have been better as we couldn't get enough time to visit chateau Chenonceau.

Contacted operator via Viator app and never got a response. Important listing details were missing. I hope they’ve updated them since my experience. Viator customer service is the worst.

Great tour and guide. Highly recommended. My daughter learnt a lot about the French history through interesting anecdotes. I especially liked Chenonceau. More time spent in Blois would've made the trip perfect.

Absolutely fantastic!

The castles were breathtaking. Addie was wonderful. We were entranced by her knowledge of French history. My only negative critique is, she walked very fast. Most of us had difficulty keeping up with her and finally gave up, which caused some confusion at the end. But I would definitely go on another excursion with her!
