This activity will end right where it started.
Meet your guide for either your morning or afternoon Versailles tour in central Paris. Climb into the comfortable air-conditioned coach for the drive to Versailles.

The Palace of Versailles was originally built as a relatively modest hunting retreat for Louis XIII in 1623, but his successor—Louis XIV—expanded it and turned it into the symbol of luxury and extravagance that we know today. The palace we see today was completed in 1710, and remains one of the most famous palaces in Europe.

When you arrive, walk past the queues with your guide thanks to your skip-the-line access. Follow along as your guide walks you through the Royal Apartments where the King and Queen of France, Louis XIV, and Marie Antoinette once spent the majority of their time.

Visit the apartments of the Dauphin and Dauphine—the heirs apparent to the throne. See the various drawing rooms, private studies, and bed chambers where the royal family once lived, and imagine what life might have been like for them in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Continue to one of the most photographed parts of Versailles, the Hall of Mirrors, built in 1678. Look around as your guide explains its most important features. The Hall of Mirrors leads from the Royal Apartments to the Salon de la Guerre and the Salon de la Paix.

At the conclusion of your palace tour, enjoy some free time to explore the gardens at your leisure. Walk through the perfect gardens, studded with statues and sculptures, and admire the incredible fountains. On Saturday nights in the summer, those fountain displays are set to music that dates from the time of Louis XIV’s court for a memorable visual and auditory experience.

After your free time in the Versailles garden, rejoin your guide at the appointed location to climb back into the coach for the return drive to Paris.

Please note: Visits on the first Sunday of every month will be unguided, and you will be provided with an audio guide.

This was spectacular!!! The tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. We had time to walk the gardens on our own and they were beautiful. Experience of a lifetime!!

Understanding the Humanity of Versailles

Versailles is breathtaking in and of itself, but taking a guided tour really enhances everything! From understanding who lived there, to having a better understanding of the mindset of the royals, this tour was exactly what we needed to enjoy Versailles to the fullest!

All was amazing with no exception the guide was incredible he has lot of information and the time was more than enough to visit the castle but maybe a little more for the garden will be great

Very Disappointing

The obscene grandeur of the palace was something to behold. Human crush of visitors & often inaudible tour guide commentary was a big spoiler. The advertised 5hr tour was just over 4hrs and that included considerable time wasted. We visited mid May and the garden presentation was shocking. Weeds everywhere, even in the pebble pathways.

The place is interesting but the trip from paris 1 hour and another hour back there we staid only 2 hours and the guide a very bed English speaker i was not able unable to understand what he was saying . He was taking his time at the first 4 rooms and then he was rushing and most of the castle we ware not able to see

The Palace was georgeous, the gardens with absolutely no flowers was a disappointment, we lost our guide inside when she

Regrettably it was losing our guide inside the museum. We stopped to take a picture in a long crowded hall and she had lowered her flag. We could hear her voice but could not locate her within the crowd. We tried to follow the voice but she apparently turned thru a door we missed. We eventually found our way outside and looked at the garden layout - no flowers existed so it wasn't much to see other than the layout. We found our way back to the front but our bus had been moved; but we ran into others on our tour and they directed us to the guide who was standing near the front fence talking to someone on her phone. The good news was we knew when we had to be out front and got there 15 minutes ahead of time; which gave us time to eventually fine her. The Palace was beautiful, but agter seeing so many beautiful flowers all over the Netherlands, the actual garden was a disappointment.

Stunning Palace and skip the line

I would recommend this trip. The coach left Pullman hotel next to Eiffel Tower, was easy to find on Google maps. We went with a lovely Portuguese lady on a coach for about 40 mins to Versailles. Coach drops you outside and you go with your guide. Was worth it for skipping the queues and going straight inside. Probably cheaper to do it all on your own but this trip just saves the hassle when you’re a tourist who doesn’t speak French. The tour guide was brilliant and very knowledgable, only down side was the audio headsets were a little crackley and sometimes it was difficult to hear but if you was close to the guide it was a little better. The palace was incredible and the gardens are also brilliant. A must see when in Paris. Oversall I would say get booked on and go.

Beautiful but go early!

Skip the line early entry was the best purchase ever! By the time we left the tour and were returning to the bus for Paris, the entry line was at least a 2 hr wait, if not more. There is plenty of beauty to aww at while you wait but strongly suggest making the early morning trip. Less than an hour bus ride, comfortable and informative with the guides sharing info of the surrounding areas between Paris & Versailles. The guided tour was fantastic - Sabrina was full of knowledge and happy to answer questions. Take ever opportunity to use the toilet inside the palace - the lines outside are lengthy. There are snack shops/ cafe & drinks at the exit. The gardens are very pretty but at this time of year, there are no flowers just greenery. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful site. There are benches throughout the area to take a rest but very little options while touring the chateau. We did the half day tour so we did not ride the train to Marie-Antionette's quarters and the outlying buildings in the garden. The fountains only operate on certain days so if this an important aspect of the visit, check ahead!! A wonderful place to visit rich in history and art.

Perfect timing. The tour is intense but very informative. It allows you to visit Versailles and still have half a day for other activities. I strongly recommend this tour.
