Tipping the scale at a massive one tonne of 99.99% pure gold, this colossal coin measures 80cm wide and more than 12cm deep. Holding a prestigious Guinness World Record, this monumental masterpiece is valued at more than $50million and is showcased in all its golden glory on a revolving platform. Watch a Gold Pour Witness the amazing spectacle of a traditional gold pour in The Perth Mint's original melting house, during which pure gold is heated to molten temperatures and transformed into a gleaming solid gold bar. I think the tours should be split. Tours for adults only & tours for families. Unfortunately our tour was not a great experience due to a large number of children. Was school holidays, will watch for that if I wish to take visitors in the future. Thank you

Hi Lyn_S, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at The Perth Mint. We appreciate your thoughts and are sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience. We have conducted separate tours in the past as you have suggested, and will look at bringing them back for the next school holiday period. Thank you again for your feedback, it is much appreciated.

Very interesting and enjoyable, our tour guide knew all his facts and was fun to listen to. Thought we may have seen more of the actual building as it heritage listed would have been good to see some o the living quarters. 1 more thing I can cross off my bucket list.

Hi there Thank you for completing a trip advisor review for The Perth Mint! We're thrilled to hear we made it to your bucket list and even more thrilled for you that you were able to cross another one off! Regrettably most, if not all of the living quarters has now been converted into staff offices. It would be so interesting to have been a fly on the wall and see what the premises would have looked like many years ago! Kind regards The Perth Mint
Great information, history and awesome staff.
