Trip to Cesky Krumlov from Prague

Our tour guide Jacob gave the tour in German and English. His presentation wasn't clear if he was at a loss for the correct words. He obviously knew the history, but it came across disjointed. The drive took about 2.5 hours n an air conditioned bus with about 12 persons in the tour. In Cesky Krumlov, the tour begins at the Castle Gardens which is a wooded area with baroque gardens. In the middle there is a revolving theater for changing sets offering live shows in the evening which was not part of the tour. From there you go up to the Castle grounds for a photo op and short tour of the castle square. You don't go into the Castle until after lunch. So you go back down for lunch. While you have the choice, the tour guide has us follow him to a designated restaurant because of the limited time. The food was very good but was at least twice more expensive than in Prague. Such for being a captive tour guest. The Castle tour is guided by a Castle guide and was very good though you can't take pictures inside and moves quickly. The interior of the castle reminded me of Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal. There is a huge theater in the Castle where performances are still held. After the castle tour you go back down the hill for a coffee at another tour designated cafe for a coffee. Then back up the hill to see the St. Víta church, and to the bus back to Prague. You get back into Prague at about 7:30 pm depending on traffic.

Bus ride was a little long . Problem with tour is that guide gave information in English then repeated in Italian as we had 1 couple from Italy. Cesky Krumlov was an interesting piece of property. Castle very impressive. Would recommend

Albert was our guide and really made the trip entertaining. His knowledge and stories were awesome. Picked up from our hotel was a bonus. We loved the trip and have fantastic memories, like the best Goulash at the gypsy restaurant. Throughly recommend.

Should your stay in Prague afford a spare day then this full day excursion must really be considered. This historic place is well worth a visit and should be given consideration. We had a very good guide and had a meal by the river which was most pleasant.

While we enjoyed seeing Cesky Krumlov, the 2 1/2 - 3 hr. bus ride to and from Prague was simply too long. Book this trip from a closer city in Europe. Our tour guide, Karolina, worked hard but she did not speak English all that well and she had a very strong accent, which made it difficult to understand her most of the time. In addition, there were Spanish only speakers on our trip, which meant that she had to give the entire tour in 2 languages, which was very tedious for all. I wouldn't go on another tour of this length if I knew ahead of time that 2 languages were being spoken. Viator did not indicate that this might happen, so I will know to ask in the future ahead of time.

Cesky Krumlov is great but our tour guide was not. English was not her first language so there were a lot of things that she did not explain in English that she did in Spanish (we speak both so we noticed the difference). There was not a lot of free time in the town and the tour seemed scattered (i.e. meeting point at the top of the castle grounds only to come back down because the bus was not where the tour guide thought it would be). We wasted a lot of time walking aimlessly around that could have been better used as free time. I would recommend going to Cesky Krumlov yourself and doing the castle tour on your own - it is a great, quaint little town!

We loved exploring this town and the castle. A beautiful and relaxing place to visit.

This was an amazing little town with an incredible castle. We had a great guide who provided much information about the city.

They forgot to pick us up and as we write an email for a refund, no one seems to be responding as yet.
