Save your money and find something else to do. Not worth the time or expense.

Poor snorkeling experience. The open bar was only open on the return trip and the food was barely tolerable. Jonathan and Rogelio were great, but the captain is not to be trusted. I paid for the hidden beach add-on and am sure he swindled me out of an additional $20.

The staff is very friendly and the food is ok. However, the music was unbearable and boring (too much local music that only the staff knew) and this was on both ways (going and coming back). Also I didn’t like that during the trip that takes 2 hrs btw, the host explain the activities that were include in our reservation and the ones that were not and we have to pay more money that we were not expecting to spend.

For startersThe catamaran is old and ugly, the food was tasty, they offered us the entrance to hidden beach (or love beach) and I wanted to enter and they told me that there was no space left on that tour and that they were only fighting for three spots for some foreigners, by the way, and I told her to also ask for mine, but no, the girl did not want to do it and she only gave preference to foreigners. Also the ecological tour has an extra price, it is still worth taking it if you cannot enter to hidden beach. They give us very little time on the Nopalera beach, they should give us more time since it is very beautiful and we enjoy it a lot. I recommend that if you take this tour, take it from a point closer to the Marietas Islands, such as Sayulita or Punta de Mita, from the Puerto Vallarta Marina the trip is very long and annoying and you get dizzy.

Very friendly and helpful. Food was great! I just wish the weather would have been a bit better. If you want to be out all day, this is the trip for you! 12 hours from the very start to finish.😊

Was ok…

It was ok… the staff is really great, but unfortunately that didn’t make up for the rest. They pack 100 people on to a boat with only 3 kayaks and 3 paddle boards and 20 snorkel sets. This means that you end up spending the majority of the time (9 hours) on the boat, bored. You basically take turns sharing things and get to do each activity for MAYBE 20 minutes. The remainder of the time you’re sitting on the boat. The “open bar” is only the last 1.5 hours, so don’t get your hopes up thinking you’ll be drinking a beer on the beach. If you pay extra for the hidden beach, they send a small boat for you once you get to the island. We didn’t do it, but the handful of people who did ended up getting left behind because they didn’t make it to the boat in time. By the time the staff on the boat were notified we were already on the way back, so we ended up sitting in the ocean for an hour waiting for the selfish teenagers who didn’t find it important to be to the boat on time. So that was cool. Like I said, the staff was great. However, it was a complete waste of a day and I would have rather spent my money on shopping and drinks on the beach in town…

Not Great

Not worth $125 at all! Snorkeling was just ok, some fish and coral that’s about it. Only had one type of beer and rum punch, no other choice for bar drinks. And it was hardly a picnic. I got a bag of chips and a half of cold turkey sandwich with one piece of meat. Would not recommend.

Great excursion

This is a great excursion to take if you have time. It takes about and hour and 45min. To go and from the Marieta Islands. We did see plenty of fish while snorkeling and did not pay extra for the private beach. A couple that did pay said they did not see any fish. While snorkeling the crew took care of us and took pictures of us through the experience, the cost for the pictures is 650 pesos which is equivalent to 36 dollars at the current rate (18pesos). There was Kayaks and paddle boards available to everyone and my friend that went with me didn’t know how to swim but with the life vest she felt safe. Definitely a great experience.

Fun, very long boat ride
Rick_Y
, May 2021
Overall, it was a very fun experience. The boat ride of about 2 1/2 hours was a bit long but that's how long it takes to get to the island. The open bar and activities on the way back made the trip back much more fun but the ride there was breakfast and then just rough out the ride. Didnt get to go snorkeling due to the many jellyfish in the water (which i understood because i didnt want to get stung and it was out of their control) Another American couple went on the hidden beach at an extra cost and hated it. They got stung all over when they had to jump out of the dingy to get to the beach so they definitely did not have a good time. It was a fun trip regardless. Main reason for the 3 stars is because my girlfriend was upset when we were done. Towards the end of the trip on the way back, the main host on the boat asked for me and her to go out dancing that night and when she told him i don't really dance, he told her that she should just come alone then. She of course said no but she thought it was very unprofessional and didnt want me upset so she didnt tell me until we were in the Uber on our way back to our hotel. Im not a jealous guy but it made me upset that it made her upset. The host was funny and great at his job but he might want to try to find a date outside of his job and keep things professional while he is.
