After pickup from your Quetzaltenango hotel in the early hours of the morning, you’ll board a coach and travel to the start of your hiking trail. With your guide, you’ll embark on the first section of the hike: conquer steep slopes and uneven terrain, not forgetting to enjoy spectacular views of the Quetzaltenango landscape as you climb.
Halfway along the trail, the terrain will become flat, thus allowing you to admire diverse flora and fauna under the direction of your guide. Be astounded by the colossal Santa Maria volcano — Guatemala’s fourth highest — and drink in the dramatic, volcanic landscapes that surround you.
On arrival at your unrivalled vantage point, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Santiaguito volcano erupting. Gasp as molten lava and billowing clouds of ash explode from one of the world’s most active volcanoes.

Please note: if less than three people require hotel drop-off, public transport will need to be arranged.
