Depart your central Reykjavik hotel or Reykjavik cruise port by air-conditioned coach and venture into Iceland’s starkly beautiful interior of rugged peaks, pastures and volcanic plains.

Take in panoramic views of the plant that harnesses the area’s natural propensity for generating power, and hear how it produces renewable energy for more than half of Reykjavik's population.

Continue from here along the famous Golden Circle, the sightseeing route that showcases three of Iceland’s most spectacular natural wonders.

Stop by at Thingvellir National Park, a region of untouched beauty steeped in ancient history. Learn how it’s home to the original, outdoor site of Iceland’s first parliamentary assembly, the Althingi, that began in 930, and see the extraordinary Thingvellir rift, where the tectonic plates of America and Eurasia face each other over a narrow valley.

Snap photos as your guide explains how the plates are gradually pulling apart, and then continue to the Gullfoss waterfall. Marvel at the double-tiered falls and, with luck, catch sight of one of the famous rainbows that forms in the mists.

Next, visit the incredible geothermal region of Geysir, known for its hot springs and geysers. Take in the bubbling pools and steam vents, and see Strokkur, a waterspout that shoots to around 98 feet (30 meters) in the air.

Your tour then ends back at the original start point in Reykjavik.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Golden Circle Route
Get into the history of Iceland at Thingvellir National Park, witness the powerful beauty of a multi-tiered waterfall at Gullfoss and walk among bubbling geothermal pools at Geysir Geothermal Area.
Duration: 7 hours
Admission Ticket Included
Stop At:
Thingvellir National Park
Learn about some of the thrilling and somewhat gruesome history of Iceland at Thingvellir National Park. It’s significance is so great that it is a designated UNESCO world heritage site. You’ll walk the grounds where Icelandic democracy began and visit sites where Viking-era justice was carried out including the Drowning Pool and the Gallows Rock. Thingvellir is also the place where two tectonic plates are gradually separating creating a gorgeous landscape of steep cliffs and broad fields featuring Thingvallavatn, the largest natural lake in Iceland.
Duration: 1 hour
Admission Ticket Included
Stop At:
Geysir
The Great Geysir, the first of its name, resides in Haukadalur in the Geysir Geothermal Area. The entire area is bubbling with geothermal activity from steam vents to boiling mud pits and the real stars of the geothermal show, the geysers. All other geysers, the world over, are named for Geysir.
Duration: 1 hour
Admission Ticket Free
Stop At:
Strokkur
While the Great Geysir erupts only occasionally these days, the last time being in 2016, nearby geyser Strokkur erupts regularly delighting onlookers by shooting hot water high into the air every few minutes.
Duration: 1 hour
Admission Ticket Free
Stop At:
Gullfoss Waterfall
The most popular waterfall in Iceland is, without a doubt, Gullfoss (the golden falls). And that is saying quite a lot in a country that is home to thousands of waterfalls. Gullfoss is also considered by many to be one of the most beautiful in Iceland and it is certainly one of the largest. Hearing the roar of the Hvita River as it plunges 32 meters over two tiers into the gorge below is exhilarating. On sunny days, rainbows are abundant in the mist rising from the falls and there are several paths available around the waterfall including one leading down to its bottom so come equipped with your raincoat and have your camera at the ready.
Duration: 1 hour

A must see in Iceland

The trio from start to finish was very well organised and very well executed . Roman and Siggy were out guides and they were so well informed and helpful throughout the day . Roman was especially helpful at escorting me across the ice at Gulfoss waterfall ! Each stop had ample opportunities to explore, take photographs and use the onsite facilities and the lamb soup was delicious at the cafe at Gulfoss. We were very fortunate with the weather but as expected it was very cold. So my advice would be to layer up and make sure you have a warm warerproof outer coat. Make sure you wear sensible appropriate footwear- we had people wearing trainers and normal shoes that struggled in places to navigate the terrain and use some moisturiser before you go to protect your face from the cold It was an amazing trip and I would recommend it to all visitors to Iceland.

Decent tour

Although this tour was good, I think this was the least favourite of our trip. The whole tour felt very corporate, being shuffled one stop to another and not a hugely charismatic tour guide. You're also not allowed to eat on the bus, which is silly to me as it really eats (pun intended) into the time you have at each stop. Some stops had lovely looking restaurants but you just aren't given the time to fully appreciate each stop and get some food (which you can't eat on the coach) at each place. I would recommend another tour with more time at each place.

The moment the clouds broke apart and let us see the awesome landscape. We were used to see snow, but not the amazing mountains, those horses, nor de geysirs. So cool!

Darren was our guide, he was both informative, efficient and made the experience very entertaining. I wish we had done the trip at the beginning of the holiday as he was full of great tips of things to go and see and eat. The waterfall and geysers are a must to see but wrap up warm.

Tour guide Simon and the driver absolutely made this trip. Couldn’t of done more for us, extra stop to see some Icelandic horses, informative but funny commentary. Would definitely recommend to see the sights.

Wouldn't have liked being in such cramped space in the best of circumstances but during a pandemic it's awful.
