Glacier Walk is a must

Hiking the glacier was one of my favorite things during my trip. I had to give this only 4 stars because of the guide Mike. From the beginning, he didn't seem very engaging with the group. Then as we were stopping for lunch, he said that we would go get coffee right after lunch which took about 30 minutes. Because of this extra stop, it was pretty dark during our last stop at Seljalandsfoss. It was still an awesome tour but the timing of things could have been planned better in my opinion.

Great tour with a very experienced and knowledgable guide. The weather wasn’t great but the tour was still worth it. Glacier hiking was an experience of a life time!

We had Siggi as our tour guide and he was absolutely awesome. Full of interesting anecdotes and useful tips he made the trip so much fun. This is now our 5th visit to Iceland (and our 2nd visit to the South Coast doing the glacier walk) and this was definitely our favourite. Nice small group and well planned itinerary. Thank you Siggi and Troll Expeditions!

Must do for the Glacier Walk!

Memorable trip. My favorites were visiting the black sand beach where the sun looked so close you could practically touch it and the waves were “sneaky”. The Glacier Walk was breathtaking and an unforgettable experience. Our guide Helke was very experienced and ensured we could successfully and safely navigate the glacier.

The most perfect clear day for my trip! Felt so lucky, seeing the waterfalls along the way was so stunning! The black sand beach was gorgeous, our tour guide made sure to keep us informed of the danger there which was good to know with the huge waves! The glacier walk was absolutely beyond words, our tour guide was excellent at making me feel safe and knowledgeable about how the glacier had formed and was also being affected by climate change. He was also really funny as we sung the 7 dwarves work song walking in single file up the glacier and we said hello to the hidden people in the ice - really a once in a lifetime day! ☺️

Very good experience and worth doing

Julian was our tour guide and was very friendly and tossed in plenty of humor along the tour. He was very informative between each stop and during the glacier hike. Really enjoyed having him as the guide. On a side note the weather was perfect, a little cold but sunny the entire day in November. Temp was a few degrees above freezing. Went to 2 waterfalls and had enough time to really enjoy each. But you don’t have forever. Great pictures and I recommend taking the stair path on the second to go to the top (it’s a hike but worth it, just be quick going up and coming down or you won’t have time to fully enjoy). Third stop was the black sand beach. Since the sun was out I was able to snap some amazing pictures. We had an hour here so it was also our lunch time. (Side note, bring your own lunch. I grabbed a sandwich and a bakery item from Sandholt near my hotel. The bus stops at a gas station on the way out there so you can grab food to go. It’s not bad food there but I really enjoyed what I brought) If you have the energy and the ability to move through some slightly tight spaces. Hike further down the beach to get away from the crowds, it’s worth it. The glacier hike was the highlight. Don’t do a south coast tour without doing the glacier. The views were amazing and it was really neat hiking on the ice. All equipment was provided so no need to worry about bringing your own crampons. In general terms on the tour. The bus is comfortable and has Wi-Fi. Just prepare for bad weather and hope for good. Leave stuff you don’t need on the bus so you don’t have to haul it around.

Absolutely beautiful and great tour. Our guide, Michael, was funny and full of Icelandic fun facts and history. Our glacier hike was wonderful, the black sand beach beautiful, and the waterfalls majestic.

An absolute must-do. Our guide was incredibly friendly and informative. We stopped at breathtaking places all along the southern coast before embarking on an exhilarating glacier hike where we were able to drink pristine water straight from the glacier. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Iceland. 10/10!

Sijji is the best professional tour guide ever especially when it comes to glacier climbing. Without him, I won’t make it.

Glacier walk exceeded expectations

Our tour guide, Mike, was wonderful. We had stops at 5 waterfalls and the black sand beach. The highlight was definitely the glacier walk. Just viewing the glacier was impressive, but actually hiking up through the crevasses to the surface of the glacier was an exciting adventure. It is not for the timid, the hike is strenuous. Mike gives good instruction and looked after the group.
