Meet a driver at your hotel in Reykjavik, then begin the 93-mile (150-km) trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, a tranquil retreat from the bustling city. The first stop of the day is the black sand beach of Djupalónssandur, where the rock worn smooth by countless waves, to learn about its rich history.

Then drive to Kirkjufell, a stunningly-formed mountain peak whose name means "Church Mountain," and looms behind the scenic waterfalls at the base.

As you drive, Snæfellsjökull will dominate the horizon as you travel, and you’ll find stunning views of the ancient stratovolcano, which is capped with a shining glacier. Stop at the Londrangar viewpoint to admire the rock formations.

The final stop is the village of Arnarstapi, for a scenic walk along a row of jagged cliffs. Then begin the return trip to Reykjavik, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Nice but underwhelming after all the other sights
Marissa_B
, Jun 2022
The tour guide was entertaining and shared many stories and lore with us. The trip itself was quite underwhelming. The locations were not as exciting as ones on the other tours we had gone one. If you have to skip one tour…this grouping of sights would be it. It’s a long, long ride to get there.

Great trip around the peninsula. Our guide was amazing. He took us to a fishing village and we tried local cod. We saw seals, lagoons , glacier and some friends were actually really lucky to see an arctic fox. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful trip!

I echo what other travelers said about the guide Hjörtur, and I'm quite satisfied with the trip in total. The only thing I didn't like is that the guide promoted a dish of fish for lunch for a certain announced price & quantity which turned out not to be true after we had it at the restaurant. He only let us know that we could order other options from the menu after he secured the orders of the fish. Apart from this small detail, I highly recommend the trip and the guide!

Howser, lead us on a great journey through the history and wildlife. We were able to hit all the highlights and some extras. Even though the day started out with surprise rain and snow, the afternoon was perfect. One of the best tours, I've been a part of

A wonderful day trip

Great tour guide, his humour and tips along the entire trip. The small bus made the trip cosier and in small groups we achieved a lot. The stopovers were well planned. Downside was lunch stop at Sker restaurant- took ages for them to serve food.

A memorable day of sagas and scenery

Tour guide, Howser, was so knowledgeable, sharing sagas of this lesser travelled area of ocean meeting old lava. Stops for local dishes at two fishing villages added to the day of magnificent scenery.

The mini bus was very tight and uncomfortable. 10 times worse than a plane. For the price and length of the tour, I would have expected a bigger bus with more space. Absolutely no room for your legs if you’re tall.

Despite the bad weather condition, I had literally enjoyed touring round Snaefellsnes National park. I could've at least prepared for the weather a bit more. I enjoy touring round in different places/locations. It was worth value for money. My feet and legs were absolutely drenching.

This was such an amazing tour! We went when it was crazy weather (safe enough to travel, but still lots of snow, wind, etc.), but our guide Simon did a great job navigating us through! He was one of our favorite tour guides ever! We saw some of the most beautiful things ever and had an amazing tour!

A great day tour to see a bunch of amazing sites
Jocelyn_S

Wonderful tour. We got off the plane, took a bus to Reykjavik, and onto the tour bus. The guide was lovely and showed us many beautiful sights. Be careful with your timing, the description shows 8 hours, and we also booked an evening northern lights tour. We didn’t get back to the city until about 7:30pm, and we had no traffic issues. The guide had informed us all at the beginning that we’d be back around 9pm.

Long day but worth it
Leonard_S
, Mar 2022
This was a long day - 12 hours, but worth it. Our driver/ guide . Siggy, was excellent & very knowledgeable. It was a very interesting tour & delicious lunch. The only downside was the audio system on the coach. The people at the front of the bus could hear the commentary very well, but at the back we couldn’t. It was rather annoying not hearing all the details of what we were seeing, however, we all enjoyed exploring the places we visited.
