Returns to original departure point
After morning pickup in Reykjavik, set out for the scenic drive to the Snæfellsnes peninsula in a comfortable coach.

Learn from your guide about the wildlife and natural history of Iceland as you travel through the Snæfellsnes peninsula, which features a variety of classic natural features in a small area. The region became famous in the world's imagination after Jules Verne's science fiction novel 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' featured the Snæfellsjökull glacier.

See the Snæfellsjökull glacier for yourself and learn about its ecosystem, then head to majestic Kirkjufell Mountain. Have lunch in the ancient fishing village of Hellnar (own expense), stop in another small fishing village named Arnarstapi, and take a stroll on Djúpalónssandur beach. You also find black-sand beaches, towering cliffs, and volcanic craters around the peninsula.

At the end of your full-day tour, your guide returns you to Reykjavik.

It was a long, but good day. The Icelandic landscape was truly breathtaking. Made quite a few stops, some were just quick photo ops and some we stayed longer. Our guide, I forget his name, was friendly and informative. What I would maybe do differently, if possible, is spend a little less time at the seal beach and the bird cliffs, to allow more time to get up close to Snaefellsjokull glacier, as well as spend more time at Kirkjufell and maybe get onto the other side of it to see the waterfalls. Lunch was a bit subpar for me, but that's just my opinion, overall I loved the food in Iceland. Overall this was a pretty good tour, as I said it was a long day but no one lagged behind and we got back to the city in good time. Thank you!

We thought we had signed up for a 9-hr tour, but it turned out to be an 11-hr tour. The extra time required to travel between Reykjavik and the Snaefellsjokul Peninsula. Alot of interesting stops and our guide was very good.

The whole experience was stop and go the whole way. We'd leave the bus for 15 - 30 min, take pictures go to the next stop and repeat. The sights were great, but there was nothing too special about this tour.

Although the landscape was quite beautiful, what we could see of it, the trip should have been cancelled due to lack of visibility. You can prepare for rain, but there is nothing you can do with trying to shot photographs in a heavy fog. The balance of our trips in Iceland were excellent.

Very comfortable coach, friendly and knowledgeable guide - we had a great, if very long day. The scenery was breathtaking and the stop-offs were well picked out - I would have preferred a bit more time at Kirkjufell we only had 5 mins there - but, overall we had a fantastic time.

Great tour, and guide. We didn't get to stop at the falls a kirkjufell sp? so that was disappointing, but the rest was wonderful.
