What the hell is this about? Kids 18...
, Nov 2016
What the hell is this about? Kids 18 and 20 y.o so adults really... weren't keen as they aren't puzzle type kids. It sounded like something different and a bit of fun but had no idea whether it would be a hit with them or not , or us for that matter. But a quick 1 hour odd inner San Diego entertainment doing something different as a family of 4 - why not give it a try! Without spoiling it - so glad we did it. A good storyline with most things tying in well. We all agreed we'd do this type of thing again. Left discussing and talking about it and things we missed and all chuffed we managed to complete it with a couple of minutes to spare. So if you enjoy murder mysteries or whodunnits TV or game things or any of those problem solving type things, this could be right for you. Not sure it's suitable for kids too young though - each child is different I guess. This one was more visual we believe than some others which can be too puzzle dominated. There were some tips provided to keep you on track if needed without being too obvious. Maybe if we didn't complete it, we'd not be as enthused and I can imagine this type of thing could cause arguments and in some cases not sure how helpful all the tips are or can be that are provided when stuck... you could end up totally stumped and hence be in a room for 15-20 mins getting nowhere, very frustrated - which would I guess make it less enjoyable. The only other thing I'd suggest to the supplier is to make the getting there directions clearer - ie where to go to. We rocked up to a locked door in an unmarked multi-storey building unsure we were in the right place. We had to knock as there were no signs on the door. Don't think this was to add to the mystique - we may have missed the point if that was the case :- The other thing I guess is the introduction at the start before you enter the locked room. As we knew nothing of what we were in for, I must confess the first 10 mins was a bit confusing when entering the room and just before. I think we were stunned mullets but we did get the idea after a whilst and from there - it was blast.

Loads of fun! Five of us got some help from Enigma HQ, and thoroughly enjoyed our problem-solving. We are high energy out-doors folks, so some of us were a bit skeptical about problem-solving in a closed room. Not any more. The biggest question we had after the event was when we could come back to solve a different puzzle!
