This activity will end right where it started.
Your Golden Gate Bay cruise departs from Pier 43 in the heart of San Francisco's popular Fisherman's Wharf, home to many of the city's seafood restaurants. As the boat makes its way out into San Francisco Bay, you'll have great views (as long as the notorious Karl the Fog stays away) of the San Francisco skyline, as well as the bustling North Beach neighborhood and the waterfront Maritime National Park.

Over the next hour you will cruise the waters of San Francisco Bay on a guided tour, meandering west along Fort Mason and past the Marina District — which took a hard hit in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake — en route to the Golden Gate Bridge. Make sure and look up when sailing beneath the bridge's massive 4,200-foot (1,260-meter) span: it's a photo-worthy view that few people get to see.

Turning around in the waters where the Pacific Ocean meets the bay, you'll return east past the Marin Headlines and the harbor town of Sausalito, a favorite day getaway spot for San Francisco visitors. Continue alongside Angel Island State Park, often called 'The Ellis Island of the West,' and then cruise past the Alcatraz Island, home to the legendary former federal prison.

Heading back toward Fisherman's Wharf, soak up great views of the impressive San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and Coit Tower, a tall and slim concrete monument named for the eccentric Lillie Hitchcock Coit, an early 20th century-patron for the city's firefighters. Fisherman Wharf's famous sea lions will undoubtedly be barking their welcomes as your cruise returns to port.

Tickets are flexible, so the departure time and date of this round-trip day cruise are up to you (meaning if you've planned ahead but your flight into SFO is late, you can simply catch the next cruise, or even one on the next day. Tickets are valid up to one year from the original booking date). All cruise vessels include indoor and outdoor seating, public restrooms, and a seasonal snack bar. Audio narration is available in multiple languages.

This was a wonderful way...

This was a wonderful way to see the Golden Gate Bridge from a different perspective, as well as Alcatraz. I would have given this a 5 star rating, but we were not given the headset to be able to hear the self tour guide tell about all the sights around us. It was only played over the speakers which were hard to hear unless you stayed underneath one, or stayed inside the cabin, which obviously would defeat the sightseeing purpose. It sounded like some good information, just hate that I paid for something that I didn’t get. Hopefully this will be corrected or taken down off of the online purchase area so no one else will be mislead. Overall this was a wonderful trip and I do recommend it.

Our trip was scheduled for 3pm but we were tired of walking around the area so we asked if we could change our reservation to an earlier time and they were happy to accommodate our request. The trip was great and very informative. I’d definitely recommend it.

Amazing Experience and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It was super awesome to get out on the water and do this tour. The weather was foggy in some parts but it added to the experience and it made me appreciate the sun more when it would come out behind the clouds. It was a bit chilly and it was in mid July when we went, so make sure you prepare for that just in case! The top deck is best for views of course and if you’re cold, you’re going to want to be sitting inside (and who wants to miss out on the beautiful sights!?). We circled around Alcatraz and went under and around the Golden Gate Bridge. The “tour” wasn’t very guided but key points were mentioned during the trip. This was great because it wasn’t a distraction of constant talking over the loud speaker and we could all enjoy the upbeat music that was playing. Witnessed a couple and their proposal on board. Definitely a great setting with amazing views. Just a hint for those looking for a great and memorable spot. (She said YES!) There is a drink and snack bar with chips and candy (alcoholic beverages and non alcoholic were available). Decently priced too! We just got hot cocoa and coffee since it turned out being chilly and it was $2 each. They also were selling sweatshirts and blankets at the snack bar. The blanket is a decent size and $20. Great little travel blanket! Bathrooms were super clean!!!! BIG COMPLIMENTS HERE! I was pleasantly surprised. This is HUGE: Make sure you get there at least half an hour ahead of time. We ran into traffic trying to find parking close by and then had a hard time finding the pier at first so we missed our first trip. (I’m not new to the Wharf but I’m still a tourist from out of town and never paid attention to the Pier numbers)… However despite this, I contacted their support and spoke to someone at the ticket booth and we found out there was one last tour for the day. Since it was 1.5 hours and the one I booked first was just 1 hour, all I had to do was pay the difference. Customer service is nothing short of WONDERFUL. Thank you for your flexibility!!! Overall, my family and I had an amazing time and I wish we did this tour sooner! Definitely worth adding to your to-do list when visiting SF. Don’t think about it, just DO IT!

Although it was cold we enjoyed it very much. We got really excited when we went under the bridge and got a very close look at the bridge. It was worth seeing/experiencing for the price. Also, the trip around Alcatraz Federal prison was amazing as well!

This boat cruise was wonderful. I liked that we went under the bridge. Lots of photo opportunities. You really are at the mercy of the fog though. We were lucky with a sunny part of the day.

Would do it again when family come to visit

The day was supposed to be partly cloudy but it was super foggy. But for some reason when we pass by Alcatraz the fog was gone. Same thing with the bridge we couldn’t even see it. But once we passed underneath the bridge the fog went away.
