So much fun!

My husband and I booked this tour as a little excursion during our honeymoon vacation to San Francisco from MN; we couldn't come this close and not experience a little bit of wine country. We appreciated the hotel pick up, and the small group atmosphere was a treat. Our tour guide, Glen, was fun and knowledgeable and made the experience all the better. The selected wineries were all wonderful in their own ways and we are so glad we splurged and booked this tour!

Beautiful 'Buttercup' our VW Bus
Maria_O
, Jun 2021
The notion of a jaunt to Sonoma on a VW Bus (Buttercup was her name) appealed to me from the outset. Not being a fan of large groups also appealed. On the day we were 4,plus our wonderful guide Gorkan 'the Oracle'. Not only was he knowledgeable about the wines, and vineyards, when asked about restaurants, he had an endless list of recommendations covering every conceivable cuisine San Francisco had to offer. Our day had us visiting 3 vineyards, dining in a courtyard, the food superb, the company equally so. (Not always the case on group outings) Laughter and bon homie was the order of the day as we chatted with the wine buffs in each Vineyard. A colourful cast of characters, with their four legged companions. Zipping around in our bright pink bus was the perfect antidote to the events of recent months, gladdening the heart as we sang songs of the 60's and 70's. I have been coming to San Francisco for 30 years and I finally managed to book a Wine tour and drag my friend along. We had a FANTASTIC day as did the other couple, one to remember. I am in the travel industry, so when I say, opt for this company, whatever their tour, you will not be disappointed, and more than likely you'll you make new friends. Thank you Gorkan for a truly fun and memorable day 👍

Great service and experience

We had a fantastic experience with Gurkan and cannot speak highly enough of the Painted Ladies tour group! After learning that 2 people in our party would arrive late in SF due to overnight flight delays, Painted Ladies worked with us to make sure they could still join us on the tour. Gurkan was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. This wine tour was the perfect way to start off a weekend trip.

Super Special Tour with Wonderful People
AnneP
, Jun 2021
Everything about this tour was wonderful. Gurkan is an amazing tour guide who is extremely knowledgeable about the region. We especially loved touring the wine cave at Deerfield as well as learning about wine chemistry from Peter at Spann Vinyards. Poppy the microbus was also a big part of what made this tour so special. Everything was perfect from start to finish!

Loved every minute of this tour!

Fantastic experience! Our tour guide/driver was so attentive to everyone, and communicated with us so well before and during the day. He made sure everyone was enjoying the day - we had 2 separate groups in the bus who didn't know each other, and we were all best buds by the end of the day. The 3 wineries were beautiful and it was great to hear from each of them about their wines and wine making process. If riding in a SUPER COOL, vintage VW bus (that backfires occasionally) through beautiful wine country and hanging out with fun people isn't your thing, you should look for a tour somewhere else. It was a perfect experience and I highly recommend!!

The VW bus is cool, but your guide always makes the trip!

If you want to arrive in style, this is your trip. Everyone smiles when they see this bus coming and EVERYONE wants to take pictures with it. The smiles do not stop there. Let’s face it, your guide makes the trip. “Cousin Al” was fabulous. I worked in the service industry for 15 years, so I have pretty high expectations. “Cousin Al” hit every mark and surpassed it. Book this tour and be sure to pack your gooviest outfit!
