Muir Woods National Monument tour: Hotel pickup in San Francisco starts early for the drive north across the Golden Gate Bridge, meaning you’ll reach Muir Woods before many other tours arrive. On your way out of the city, see the Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio.

Muir Woods National Monument is home to a pristine forest of California coastal redwoods, which are some of the planet’s tallest and oldest trees with heights that can reach 250 feet (76 meters). You have some time here to wander through the grove of giant sequoias and cross over mossy streams. Your guide will tell you about the local vegetation and wildlife along the nature trail. Then return to the tour vehicle for the drive further north into wine country.

Wine country tour: When you reach your first winery in Sonoma County’s Carneros region, you can explore the grounds, enjoy photo ops of the vineyard and sample a variety of wines in a welcoming atmosphere. For lunch, guests can choose one of two lunch options. The first is to venture out on their own and try one of the many cafés and restaurants located in the plaza. The second option is to upgrade their wine country experience to the next level with a private seated gourmet food and wine pairing experience at a local restaurant. They will enjoy delicious local food paired with a collection of California wines. After being greeted with Sonoma Valley cheeses and sparkling wine, guests may select a course such as white bean & vegetable soup, pasta with almond-arugula pesto and grated pecorino romano or grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables and balsamic reduction. Afterward, continue your tour to your second and third wineries in Sonoma County or Napa County for more tastings. Enjoy a leisurely stop at each winery, and you’ll have the chance to taste 3 to 5 wines of different varietals, from white to red to sparkling. Tasting fees are included, and you may purchase bottles not available in retail stores to take home. See below for a sample of wineries you may visit.

Your day trip ends with the drive back across the Golden Gate Bridge. Admire views of the vast Pacific and the rugged coastline before hotel drop-off.

Redwoods & Wine Country Escape with Gourmet Food & Wine Pairing upgrade: Discover Muir Woods National Monument, Sonoma & Napa Valley in 1 Day and enjoy an exclusive three-course gourmet meal and wine pairing. (Lunch for children not included in the rate and needs to get paid at the restaurant).

NOTE: Tastings are usually held at Kieu Hoang Winery Cline Cellars and Mayo Family Winery, but locations are subject to change, depending on availability.

The time for pickup was confusing..was given three pickup times...standing in the cold. Loved the wine just wish there was a varied selection of wines not just all dry wines. Muir...nice...but no one told us that the entrance into the park was EXTRA!!

Wine tasting day!

Day long trip but had a lovely time. Started the day out early and went to the national park. The tour guide Kimmie was great. She provide vast amount of detail about every aspect of our trip including the fact that Big Foot lived near the park😃. After the park tour we went to the different vineyards. All were nice and was on a different caliber then the next. After we finished all the tasting we did try to get a glance of the Golden Gate Bridge. Kimmie did a great job making sure we get the best view possible, considering the fog, of the bridge.

Jimmy was absolutely amazing! She gave us so much intriguing and thoughtful information and it kept our attention. She answered every question that was asked and helped when help was needed. She was an absolutely amazing driver taking the winding roads to Muir Woods. I definitely recommend this tour company and especially Kimmy.

Two attractions in one day

It was great to be able to travel to two of the bay area's most important destinations in one day. Muir woods was awe inspiring and almost holey and the wineries were frolicking. We chose our own lunch which gave us time also explore Sonoma's shops. On the way back were were provided with a local's view of the Golden Gate Bridge. As it has been said: Don't leave the bar area without it.

Yep...that's the whole idea behind our Muir Woods and wine country tour. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed it and hope to see you again soon.

Tour in Hell
Mickey_K

Whatever you do, folks, DO NOT BUY the included lunch, as you’ll have to awkwardly sit in a wavy table with other people from the tour in the SPECIFIC CHAIR the host tells you to in a touristy-trap-kind-of-restaurant with subpar food. If you, refuse to stay at the restaurant you will NOT receive a refund back. Why can’t this shady company give you that information? The tour drags on forever, as the guide mispronounces the Spanish-named locations in Wine Country and rambles on and on without giving any interesting facts. As far as the wineries we visited which were Mayo, Muscardini and Kieu Hoang are not impressive. Search your own wineries and make appointments, and skip this tour all together if you can (btw the bus itself sucks as it is run-down) . Save your money, as they will not refund you for anything you do not consume. Definitely a tour to remember :)!
icon Response from Host , Jul 2021
Mickey, we are certainly dismayed that you were disappointed by the "wavy table" and seating arrangements. I'm sorry. When we spoke, you explained that you left the restaurant before being served, so I'm not sure how you were able to judge the food quality...our many guests over the years have raved about the wine-pairing lunch and service they/ve received at the Plaza Bistro. Nevertheless, we are happy to refund your lunch cost, even the whole tour, but as we explained, you must make that request to Viator who has your funds. They have the same customer satisfaction policies as we do and I'm pretty sure they will be accommodating.
