With this admission ticket to the San Francisco Zoo, the way you spend your time is up to you. The zoo is open daily, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore the grounds at your own pace.

There are more than 20 exhibits at the zoo with more than 1,000 animals to see, so you’ve got your work cut out for you. Start by stopping by the Koala Crossing Exhibit where five furry friends hang out, and point them out while they sit up high in the eucalyptus trees they like to eat off of.

Check out the meerkats and prairie dogs, and learn how two animals from two different continents can have so much in common. Don’t miss out on seeing Bear Country or Eagle Island, and the Insect Zoo is also a good place to visit if you’re into creepy-crawly creatures.

If you need some time away from all the animals, you can walk the gardens, hit the playground, or even hop on a train (own expense). Whatever you spend your time doing, you’ll walk away knowing much more about animals than you did before.

Ok for the little ones, but adults will be very disappointed.
, Sep 2021
Sorry to say The San Francisco Zoo was a bust. Most of the animals were either sleeping or hiding out. The ones we did see looked absolutely sad and lonely. Most of the primates were old. I felt so sorry for all the animals.
A bit of a let down
, Sep 2021
Parking was great! entry east. The African country our favorite, our last stop but most interesting. It was real, we could watch movements and animal interaction. We were disappointed in how few animals there were all in all, and animals by themselves made us sad. Especially the rhinos. We'd like a plaque explaining why the horn is important and on one was removed : to what danger, for what purpose.? signage was not too easy to follow at times We missed the monkey circle big time! Helpers weren't evident or engaging and so the overall atmosphere lead us to just kind of wander with lack luster
Great Day

Great day at the zoo! My wife LOVES animals, all species; Me?: Not so much. Even for kid-less adults on vacation, it was a lot of fun. The zoo brings out the kid in everyone! Be sure to check out the Lemur exhibit. They were hilarious to watch as they interact! It was a great day at the zoo.

The steam train was fun! Very friendly staff One complaint was that the restrooms were a bit messy. Looked like they haven’t been cleaned in a while.
Experience during COVID

Wish there were more animals but had fun nevertheless with my family, hopefully when this pandemic and COVID thing ends, they will be more animals and their “habitat” would be maintain a bit better.

Disappointed outing
, Aug 2021
I was a little disappointed.. there were very few animals to see, and lots of construction. I realize change is necessary but 40% of the zoo was under construction, and another 20% of animal exhibits "closed for the day". The only food/pizza line was ridiculous. My 9yr old grandson was bored and was ready to go home the first 30 minutes. While they are under construction, not a good use of your time or money.

Buy directly from zoo
, Jul 2021
We still have to get in line to get physical tickets. It’s pointless buying from you. Fix it. Make it painless.
Personal Space NOT ALLOWED
, Jul 2021
The zoo itself was amazing however the people had no sense of allowing personal SPACE...the park provides each family in the midst of a pandemic a CIRCLE written on the ground to allow 6 feet of space between guest. Guest don’t pay attention to this and hog up the views and invade my space!!!! Other than that
Fun time

Love this place and all the he animals spent five hours walking around the park with the kid and it's reasonably priced
