This tour started off with our guide picking us up from our hotel in San Ignacio. He drove us about an hour to where the cave was. He was very informative and talked about the region we were driving through and the people of Belize as a whole. It was just my husband and I on this tour so it was nice to have a private tour. We got to the cave entrance and were placed in a canoe where our guide was the one doing the work and paddling us through the cave. He appeared very knowledgeable about the Mayan culture and the uses for the caves and also the different structures within the caves. We got to go deep within the cave about 2km or so. Afterwards, we picked up some lunch from the restaurant there and headed towards Big Rock Falls. Since it had rained on previously days, the falls were big and loud. It appeared both locals and tourist frequent the falls. It was a little cold that day so we didn't get in the water but I am sure on a hot day, the water would feel great.
