Departure informations. The tour will start from the “Old Port of Fira”. The port is accessible only by cable car 6€ /per way (departure every 15 mins.) or by walking down the steps (20-30 mins walking, 600 steps). When you arrive at the old port you will have to head to our office "Santo Star"

This activity will end right where it started.

  • For the volcano tour we recommend to wear comfortable shoes, sun hat and bring a bottle of water.
  • Dark color swimsuits are recommendable, in order to avoid stains from the sulphur.
  • To avoid any delays we advise our customers to be at the cable car or start walking down the steps, 45 minutes prior their departure.
  • There is a minibar in every boat, where you can buy water and snacks
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 150 travelers

Port is the hub of abuse towards donkeys

The boat trip was good but the trip was marred by the abuse we witnessed towards the donkeys in Fira at the start and close of the trip. Donkeys and horses are being used to transport heavily overweight tourists, some two at a time up the steep mountain on slippery cobbles. Many were muzzled with metal cages, some were whipped to run faster with many stumbling. All were tied together. There was no water and they were literally standing in their own faeces.  There were open wounds, weeping eyes. The horses and donkeys were submissive, with seemingly no natural instincts left. They were screamed at by the owners.  This abuse is a disgrace and must be addressed. Until this time, we will not return or contribute to the tourism economy in Santorini.

Getting to the hot springs was awesome. Just wish they offered life vests instead of noodles for non swimmers so everyone can enjoy the experience. Regardless, everyone seemed to have fun.

The walk down to the harbor was slippery and strenuous(take rhe cable car instead!) The volcano tour was good. The guide was knowledgeable and informative. The thermal water swimming part of the tour was chaotic and rushed. 5 stars mainly for the volcano tour/guide.

A wonderful volcano tour

Excellent experience with a great tour guide. We enjoyed jumping off the boat into the hot springs for swim. The hike up the volcanic island was pleasant and easy (wear proper running shoes as it's rocky). The tour guide also provided a good history of the volcano along the way. Wonderful views of the ocean at the top of the island. Overall a great tour and I would highly recommend.

Fun trip but not for the unfit!

Overall a great trip which is well worth doing. I booked the 11 am trip which seemed significantly less busy than the 10.30 one which was a positive. The main highlight was the view from the top of the volcano back over Santorini. The swim in the 'hot' spring was brief but fun.

The boat ride over to the volcano had great views. The volcano tour was nice just very dangerous with all the rocks so wear comfortable gym shoes. I did not swim in the hot springs due to the sulfur

The tour guide was excellent. We learned about the history of the area and everything we were seeing. The volcano was not too exciting, a little puff of air after climbing 1km was disappointing. The hot spring was warm compared to the cold sea water there, but it was orange and a little yucky.

I Went on this boat tour with my husband, had a great time! Breath taking views! I’m not much of a swimmer so I couldn’t make the most of the hot springs swim however I did attempt it with a float but didn’t go far from the boat. The walk up the volcano island was amazing, it was really hot and tiring but hey the views were worth it. To all the hijabis-I was able to use the washroom to change in to my Burkini for the hot springs. The entire tour was 3 hours which was just right. We went on the 11am tour which meant we were done by mid afternoon and had the rest of the afternoon/evening.

Very easy to access from cruise ship from Old Port. The tour guide was friendly and informative. The volcano stop was about an hour. The walk up to volcano was gravel and took about 25 min to climb with no shade. Spectacular views from the top. Thermal springs are in a different location (pictured). You get into the water about 50 meters from the springs then swim over to the springs (brown area in photo). You can use a pool noodle provided, but you need to be able to swim. This stop was 30 min. There are snacks available for purchase on board. Toilets are available on board as well. If you do not want to swim or climb, you can remain on boat. We had kids, adults, and some mobility issues, but all had a great time. Recommended!

Fun trip, hard to get to/from

This trip was very fun but took some planning. We went in the morning and luckily there was no line for the cable car going down to the port. At the port there is a ticket office where you have to check in to exchange your online booking with actual tickets. Then we got on the boat and went to the volcano. Overall a very cool experience. I would recommend sneakers/comfortable shoes for this part. The water was too choppy so we did not get to go to the hot springs but did go swimming in a harbor which was still fun. We were able to leave our bag on the boat while we swam. Then we headed back to the port. The line for the cable car back up was probably over 2 hours long. We took the stairs up instead which took about 30-40 min. HOWEVER the entire staircase is covered in poop from the donkeys. They are also sharing the stairs with you and periodically came down the stairs in large groups and were not very well controlled/slipping on the stairs which was a little frightening and very smelly. Just be prepared for a long wait or a miserable but reasonably short walk up the stairs.

Viator is a rip off stole my DAMN MONEY AND there was no boat. No one at the port to escort my family and I to the boat. Also they didn't have a phone that worked. Never again 😒
