Then head toward the Korean Demilitarized Zone to visit the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, which the North Korean Army used to infiltrate South Korea. With a provided helmet, you can walk down to the tunnel, and then you'll have time to browse the DMZ Exhibition Hall to see displays of old weapons, a short film about Korea's history, and other information about the Korean War.

Next, visit Dora Observatory for a view of North Korea, which you can see using the onsite telescopes aimed at the propaganda village, and then continue to Dorasan Station, the last station before the border with North Korea, where you can get a souvenir stamp that mimics an immigration stamp.

Make your way back to Seoul at this point, passing by Unification Village and stopping at the Korean Ginseng Center before drop-off at Seoul City Hall, where your tour ends.

Great alternative while the DMZ was closed

Due to the coronavirus, we could not travel to the DMZ, so the tour operator booked us an alternative tour that included visits to Imjingak park, the Odusan Observatory and the War Memorial Museum. All are excellent visits that help you understand the impact of the Korean War on the country and the entire Korean peninsula. Our guide, Mr. Kim, was excellent and offered a great perspective on the war's legacy and the effects still felt today. The weather on our trip day was very poor - cold and snowy - but the bus driver did an excellent job on the roads with low visibility. Kudos to the tour operator for responding to a situation beyond their control and offering a wonderful alternative.

Had a great experience despite the DMZ area near the border was closed due to government restrictions. The tour provided a good alternative, and our guide Sadie was amazing!

Alternative Tour

Due to an illness outbreak at the DMZ, we were unable to do the regular tour, so we did the alternative tour, which includes the observatory, the freedom bridge and the war memorial. This tour was the experience of a life time and it’s something my friends and I will remember forever. Our guide gave us such good information about Seoul and the history of the korean peninsular Korean. My friends and I were also very impressed with how objective, but still hopeful the information was. If you are able to go on this tour during your time in Korea, I would 1000009% recommend it.

Sadie was a wonderful guide, she was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Though the JSA is closed I thought the tour gave me a far better understanding of the Korean War and of that area. I would highly recommend if you are interested in history and politics!

The DMZ was closed on our tour date (due to the government), but the company provided a great, alternative tour. Mr. Kim shared a vast amount of knowledge and stories about the DMZ, the Korean people and the two countries. It was perfectly timed to keep people engaged and interested! Highly recommended!!

It was a great tour and very informative. We had to do an alternative tour as the DMZ was closed to the public that day but we still had a great time. Thank you Mr. Kim! :)

Our family enjoyed learning about this history. It was humbling eating in the observation tower cafe overlooking North Korea. Bus pick up and drop off was very convenient, our guide was very knowledgable and friendly. Sturdy shoes are a must if you walk down the tunnel, it's extremely steep and about 1/4 mile down then another 1/4 mile underground to the end. We didn't watch the video explaining the tunnel but our guide gave us the history. If you skip going down the tunnel, go across the parking lot and watch the video.

Very good

The tour was well organised and the guide as perfect. But there's only so much insight you can gain from this tour and not to mention the most random visit to a ginseng factory. That really ruined it for me.

Good experience of the Bukhansan mountain. Shrek (the guide) was knowledgable, patient, and kind enough to change the route mid point to suit my ability and preference. Thank you!
