See a different side to Shanghai as you cycle past the city’s top highlights by bike with a guide during this 3.5- to 4-hour trip. It’s a great chance to explore the city’s top sites and its most-famous districts at a laid-back pace, learning about daily life of the city’s residents along the way.

Start your cycling trip with either a morning or afternoon departure (depending on the option selected), meeting your guide near the city’s Jade Buddha Temple. Receive your bike rental and helmet before following your guide for a relaxing 12-mile (20-km) bike trip past some of Shanghai’s most unique neighborhoods and attractions. As you ride, your guide will share insights about the city’s history, culture and architecture.

Admire Shanghai’s French Concession, a district controlled by the French in the 19th and 20th centuries. Soak up the area’s distinctly European charm as you pedal past its Catholic churches and terraced cafés, before proceeding down Tianzifang (Taikang Road), a district known for its dense maze of alleyways and collection of arts and crafts businesses.

Continue to Xintiandi, a pedestrian-friendly area of Shanghai known for its wealth of retail shops, restaurants and entertainment offerings. Cycle down Shanghai Old Street, then along Nanjing Road, eventually reaching the city’s iconic Bund, located along the banks of the Huangpu River. Then check out People’s Square before returning to the Jade Buddha Temple to finish your day.

Tour was good in that you got to see parts of Shanghai you couldn't have by car or coach. My Guide was very nice but his English was not amazing and he was obsessed with discussing Brexit rather than telling me about Shaghai!

Recently my daughter and myself were booked to do a four hour bike tour of Shanghai. During the week prior to the tour the operators changed. Unfortunately we had to cancel our bike tour at the last minute as my daughter was sick. The tour operator were so understanding and helpful and even though they were under no obligation to do so they suggested a walking tour the next day instead at no cost. Peter our guide was so knowledgeable and helpful and took us to the French Concession which was the main part of Shanghai that I wanted to see. The tour operator were prepared to do a full 4 hour walk but as we were leaving that day we could only do two hours. I would recommend a biking/walking tour with the tour operator as they are a very honest and reliable company and go out of their way to ensure that you leave Shanghai happy.
