Our guide, Vasko, gave us a warm, wonderful and witty introduction to this beautiful city, and it's not-so-distant past. He was very informative, as we saw most of the sites connected with the city's 45 year experience with socialism. The tour was an educational one since it gives the real pros and cons of the communist regime in Bulgaria. The tour guide gave a realistic history of the political background of Bulgaria before during and after the communist era. Being American I had a different opinion and now understand the system with another perspective.
