Definitely NOT worth the money

My wife and I have taken approximately 15 catamaran tours with just the 2 of us as well as our family over the years. I have to say....this was probably the worst one we've taken. Food was limited to a few sandwiches and a plate of fruit. Bar was limited to Rum punch, sodas and 2 different beers. No music at all. Don't get me wrong...we weren't expecting a party boat but some low level Caribbean music being played would have been nice. It was an extremely slow sail the entire time with only a few stops that were not interesting. I've never wanted a catamaran tour we've been on to end until this one. Peter and Miriam were extremely nice and it was a pleasure talking with them, but they really need to consider decreasing the price as this was definitely not worth it. We fortunately took another catamaran tour 3 days later which was approx $60 more per person and it was worth every penny and we didn't want it to end.

Dear Timothy, We are sorry your expectations and our offering were clearly a mismatch. The experience that we offer is an exclusive sailing excursion, 12 persons max., focussing on sailing, on a unique trimaran, where we stop once for swimming/snorkeling and a sandwich lunch on board. We like sharing our passion for sailing on the waters around St.Maarten with our guests. In the description of our experience we mention what to expect: no music (except for the wind in the sails, water against the hull), a snack, gourmet sandwich lunch, consisting of a croissant with dutch gouda cheese, baguette with home made curried tuna salad and a baguette with gourmet French ham per person, an extensive fruit platter with fresh pineapple, watermelon, honeydew melon and grapes, and drinks which are beer, white wine, rum punch, various sodas and water (flat & sparkling). Exactly the things you found not pleasant or sufficient, so unfortunately you picked the wrong excursion. Of course for US$ 60,- more per person, on a cruising catamaran, which has many features of a mobile home, more restaurant like food and drinks can be offered. Our trimaran is a racer - cruiser powered by solar panels, which is clearly shown on the main picture, and are therefore limited in food and beverage offerings. We, confirmed by many of repeating guests, feel we offer something unique, unlike the many other catamaran excursions you and your family have been on.
Best way to spend the day on Sint Maarten

The lunch was really nice, the owners of the boat were very welcoming and kind. We had a great swim and a very nice tour around the island. They were very friendly to us and we could have drinks all the time if we wanted to.

Great day Sailing
, Feb 2020
This was our first time to St. Marten and we wanted a combination sailing adventure to explore and learn about the island and have an opportunity to snorkel. We decided on the 5 hour Day Sail and could not have been happier. It was a windy day but Pieter and Mirian were the perfect hosts for the day. They appear to be expert sailors, so very comfortable with pretty strong winds and did a great job of keeping us quite dry. They are very knowledgeable about the island so we learned a lot about the areas we saw. They took us to Mullet Bay for snorkeling and although the water was a little churned due to the wind (we think), the bay is lovely and it was a beautiful setting for a relaxing snorkel & swim and lunch. Speaking of lunch, Mirian prepared the most scrumptious sandwiches that we totally devoured. Really, everything about the day was absolutely perfect. We totally would recommend this trip, and especially Mirian and Pieter. They were awesome.

Thank you very much for the review and the positive feedback on our sailing skills! It was indeed a windy day but No1Sxm behaves really well in these conditions. Normally we swim/snorkle in long bay or bay rouge but the waves did not permit easy access to the water so Mullet Bay it was. We indeed try and find the calmest place. The waves made that there was lots of sand in the water and visiblily was not great but we are happy to hear you enjoyed it. Hopefully you will join us again on another trip to our friendly island. Mirian & Pieter
Personal Touch, Relaxing
, Dec 2019
Our sail was simply wonderful. Our hosts, Peter and Miriam, were welcoming and accommodating. They attended to every need and worked as a great team to sail our boat and provide a great experience. I highly recommend this cruise, especially if you like a small crowd (no more than 12!).

It was wonderful to welcome you on board of No1Sxm Sailing and sail with you. We indeed like to take no more then 12 guests on our sails to have a personal experience with every guest on board. Pieter & I together for over 10 years and have gotten used to each other and yes you can call us a team. Thanks for the recommendation
