Excellent trip

Stay away. Terrible service. Money Grab!

14,000 Yen Wasted. The weather forecast on the day was 80% rain with an incoming typhoon and they chose not to cancel. We were informed that the 5th station was closed shortly after departure and was being subsided for a shrine. Shrines in Japan are free to enter. Shortly after they informed us the cruise was cancelled and took us to a terrible buffet lunch. Afterward they swapped another planned stop for a castle trip which no one wanted to go. They then dropped the majority of guest off at the train station and gave us a chocolate as a sorry gift. After speaking with the company they said bc of weather they will not refund and they swapped the stops for a free shrine, castle, and a small gift (box of chocolate) for the last stop (not kidding) and denied the request. So in short, spent an entire day on a bus for 14000 yen/person, had a terrible lunch, and was in an unsafe bus in the mountains during a typhoon. Stay away from this company. If everything goes smoothly your probably fine. Any issues at all and it will be a nightmare.

This trip was awesome! We had a few bumps starting off since we had a good amount of people late, but otherwise amazing! We only got to see Fuji from the bus for about two seconds, but that’s Japan! We absolutely LOVED the rest stop before the 5th station with the foot bath. I’ve lived in Japan before and I learned so much on this trip that I hadn’t known. Our tour guide was awesome and she was soooo knowledgeable! Hands down would do again. Also, we weren’t able to do the Owakudani Valley because of high gas levels but I’d love to do it next time!

An unpleasant memory

In the morning we understood it was very crowdwded and it tooks 5 hours to hakone, but from the first moment the guide tried to convine us that everything is very crowded and the staying inthe bus will be very long. So , the 5 station was at 1900 m not the classic one at 2400 m, but they didn't let us know that. It was foggy and we didn't see the mountain. For reason delayed we "forgot" about the ropeway, vulcano activities and the guide tried to convince us is better to take the train to return home because the way back will be over 4 hours, the cost of the train was 30 $ for bullet/10 for normal train. But for the people which decided to return by bus the surprise was the journey was about 2 hours just like with train (1,5hours). So, if they know everyday is crowded why they present a long schedule of visiting and why they try to convince you to return by train (they give you the tickets from the bus) instead the paid return?

Hakone & Mt Fuji

Even though we had a very cloudy day with very little hope of seeing Mt Fuji let alone get to the 5th Station (not really available early in the season) our tour guide Levin made the day absolutely fabulous. Always reminding us to pray for a sight of Mt Fuji, we were rewarded with a brief glimpse just before we left Hakone & then again on the bus trip home. Thank you Levin, you made the day.

No merece la pena
busyloco2
, Dec 2019
