Tulum Local Walking Food Tour

Wonderful, non-traditional tour. Our tour guide was great! We were able to experience excellent local dishes!!!

We always take food tours as it is a great way to experience local culture. Ricardo did not disappoint. He was timely, polite, and super knowledgeable of the different cuisines and places to go. We enjoyed 7 different stops along our tour enjoying local tacos, tamales, mole, and various treats. Ricardo never made us feel rushed and he always made sure we had fresh drinks. Bonus is that Ricardo was known by seemingly everyone we passed throughout our tour.

The food tour with Rodrigo was a blast. He took us to the city's best-hidden gem restaurants to sample the variety of tacos, tamales, and fruit juices. Everything was a delicious and eye-opening experience. We were so full by the end of the tour and learned a lot about Tulum. Rodrigo was a superb guide, and we'll definitely book another tour with him when we visit the city in the future.

Our tour guide was fantastic. The food stops was fantastic and in-between our tour guide shared loads of information about Mexican culture.

Such a fun experience! Walked around the center of Tulum and tried many different types of Mexican cuisine. There is no way we would have found these restaurants, stands and shops on our own. Our guide Jonas was The best!

Great experience. Was able to find places we wouldn't have found on our own. Our guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. We hit some spots that we made sure to return to later on in our trip. They taught us how to properly taste the sauces, so we were informed for the rest of our trip. Would definitely recommend. The walk between stops was very necessary, you eat a lot of good food — come hungry!

This was an incredibly fun experience! Our tour guide was Johnny, he’s funny, charismatic, and made us feel incredibly comfortable being that it was just 3 women in our group and we haven’t really traveled out of the country. The stops Johnny took us too we’re all amazing, tasty and a close distance. He has a great relationship with the staff at each stop we went to which the experience even more authentic. He takes you on a big circle downtown and was very informative about how to find your way around. And because our group was small he allowed us to detour a bit into some shops to get souvenirs, try tequila, and more! The greatest thing about this adventure was that we stayed in a local Airbnb downtown so the next day we went back to eat some of our favorite foods on the tour! We even tried some things we saw along the way on our tour. It was easy for us to navigate the city with the information Johnny gave us. Some of the vendors/restaurants even remembered us and treated us like family! It definitely made us feel welcomed and like one of the locals! Johnny even took some great photos of us! Tips: walk or take a cab, meeting point is on the downtown strip so save the hassle of driving. Be on time, we were early and our tour was already waiting! Make sure you add a profile photo on your account, it makes it easier for the guide to spot you. The booking was under my name so when my group arrived our guide yelled out my name and instantly made us feel safe. Everything is paid for but please do consider bringing MXN/USD for tips, these are small and quaint restaurants but with a big atmosphere. The hospitality is always great and the prices are even better. Wear comfy walking shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray! And bring a backpack, I guarantee you’ll be leveling with trinkets spotted along the way!

It was a good informative trip with super delicious and a lot of food!! I would do it again. It was worth it.
