Withlocals Venice Away from the Crowds Safe & PRIVATE Tour with a Local Expert

We met Alexia in the back streets of Venice and walked through uncrowned and previously unknown areas of Venice with a great commentary on what had happened along the way over the centuries. It was most interesting and finished up in front of San Giorgio Maggiore with great selfie views of SanMarco back across the water. As it was now dark this looked most dramatic with all the individual lights. A wonderful trip not to be missed.

Great tour, had the wrong meeting place but his girlfriend was also doing a tour, so she called him to meet us where we were. that is where we were told to be. Great kid

The pros - we did walk around the backstreets of the Dorsoduro area and then jumped on a boat to San Giorgio. It was interesting to walk away from the very crowded main shopping areas and see parts of the city that we normally would not have seen. The cons - would have liked to have had more information about Venice from the tour guide rather than just walking around. The guide did not seem as prepared nor as informative as other guides we had during our visit to Italy. The basic information on where to meet the guide needs to be updated. The confirmation ticket said to meet her at one location and an instant message said to meet her at another location. We had our bases covered - I stayed at one location and my wife at another. We also didn't realize that we needed boat tickets to get to and from San Giorgio island and the tour did not mention this either. Luckily we had purchased all-day hop on and off tickets so we were covered. The tour ended rather abruptly up in the church at San Giorgio and we were left to find our way back to the main island.

Met up with our Giada, the paperwork was abit confusing as it stated 2 different meeting points. The day before the tour, received a confirmation text, but this was to meet up somewhere else. We made our way instead to this point and Giada so happened to text us saying we she was on her way and we then met at the new meeting place. Giada, very pleasant and had a lot of information to give us and very apparent she knew the area well. Just included my self and husband, showed us some hidden gems, gardens, courtyards, university buildings and churches, quite a few infact. Very interesting. Had a coffee together, felt like we had met a friend who was giving us a tour. Ensured we were happy with what we were doing and explained as we went along hope the tour would take shape and that we were happy to see what had been planned for us. Included a boat trip and ending at The Church of San Giorgio. Giada ensured we knew how to get up the bell tower, where we could buy our ticket to the bell tower and where and timings for our trip back on the boat to St Marks square. Overall very pleasant few hours spent on the tour.

Excellent.Monica was very knowledgeable and showed us some areas and buildings that are only open during the Biennale.

Excellent morning stroll with Loris through the quiet back streets of Venice. Extremely pleasant and informative guide and the view atop the San Giorgio tower was outstanding - timed it to perfection and experienced tower bells chiming full blast in our ears as we gazed across to St Mark's. Lovely introduction to Venice.
