  • During the winter period (from November 1st to March 31st) the tour is bilingual, so explanations are provided in two languages if the audience provenience is mixed.
  • No credit or refunds will be given in the case of a no show (if you don't show up at the meeting point at the time indicated on your voucher)
  • This is a collective tour, which means there might be other participants going on the tour with you.
  • In cases of religious ceremonies, exceptionally high tides or other special occasions, access to St. Mark's Basilica may not be permitted
  • To visit St. Mark's Basilica it is necessary to dress appropriately (no shorts or vest or tops) and backpacks are not allowed for safety reasons.
  • Please note that, due to the particular morphological structure of Venice and the logistic problems resulting from it, we cannot guarantee that the whole tour is accessible to people with limited mobility: This means that people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users could not be able to access some parts of the itinerary

Viator did not show up for this tour. We called and texted the numbers given and NO SHOW. We even walked over to the entrance where tours were entering and no one was with Viator. Will now try and get our money back.

This was an amazing place. This was a family vacation with our grown children including our son in law. The history, the statues, marble, the paintings, it is so hard to explain. We were in total awe. A must see if you come to Italy.

A very interesting tour and did beat the queues! However, the meet and greet experience did not live up to expectations. The staff only just arrived in time with about 30 people wondering what was going on and whether the tour was going ahead.. The tour sign which the documentation said would be unmissable - well it was. The staff were smart but not in the uniform descibed and were obvious uncomfortable. Much praise should go to our actual guide who was excellent. Back packs were easily left at a collection point.

Great tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind. We were able to skip the line and go in immediately. The meeting point was easy to find, and easy to get our tickets/headsets from the employees. The tour lasted as long as advertised.

We arrived at the meeting point as described in the booking. We found a tour guide with Viator and he said that he was the tour guide for this tour. Turns out, he was the wrong tour guide. He gave us a brief history of St Mark’s Basilica and brought us into the Basilica and then disappeared. When we wanted to go into Doge’s Palace he was no where around. We called Viator and they said they would email me about and refund and I haven’t heard anything back. Good luck finding the right tour guide for this tour in crazy St Marks Square!

Our directions for the tour told us to go to the clock tower in St Mark's Square and look for a booth with TOUR written on it and tour guides in company shirts and pants. We went very early, found a huge tower in the square with clocks on the top and went and sat down watching the crowds grow. About 20 minutes before the tour was going to start we walked over to the tower only to see that there were no guides the way the instructions told us. Many Chinese guides with their groups and now a huge crowd had grown. We started looking but according to our directions we should have been in the right spot. Finally, way over in front of a building we saw just what was given to us, we went and lined up. When we got to the front of the line a very rude guide told us NO, OTHER LINE!!!!! We looked around and saw that there was another line right beside the one we were in so went to that one. When we got to the front of THAT line another rude guide told us, "NO, OTHER LINE!!!!!!" and waved us away. I cursed at him and asked "WHAT OTHER LINE??? WE'VE BEEN IN TWO ALREADY!" He just waved us away. We then noticed another line going in a different direction and went over to it. Many others in the line were complaining of the same thing. One North American guy came back to his family and we heard him same, "You aren't going to believe this but apparently the tower in the middle of the squrare is NOT the clock tower, this building here with a clock on it IS! A lot of very frustrated people complaining about the same thing we experienced. Poor organization and RUDE attendants. The tour was OK. Our guide Donnatella was OK. Her English was adequate but she had to stop and think quite often. A lot of awesome sights but a mediocre tour.
