Meet your guide at the entrance to the Doge's Palace, where you can skip the line for express entrance. Don your provided audio headset to hear your guide clearly and embark on an educational tour of one of Venice's most important buildings.

The Doge's Palace, an architectural masterpiece marrying Byzantine and Oriental styles, once greeted all ships entering the lagoon. Listen to your guide's commentary outlining the role of the building in the Duke's reign over the Republic of Serenissima. Today, this impressive building still represents the seat of Venetian political power.

Go back in time as you walk through the lavish rooms, up the gilded staircases and by important masterpieces by Veronese, Tintoretto and other artists of the time. Imagine the suffering of Venetian convicts as they crossed the Bridge of Sighs toward their imprisonment.

Your tour concludes at its departure point.

After a bit of concern that this wasnt going to take place as the organisers were late setting up, things proceeded smoothly. We were a fairly large group but with the audio earpieces could hear the guide very well. Our guide, Catarina, was knowledgeable with a very good sense of humour. She gave us lots of information about what we were seeing, with quirky facts thrown in to amuse us. The Doges Palace is amazing. The starkness of the prison and crossing the Bridge of Sighs after the splendours of the Palace was thought provoking. A good tour.

Skipping the line made the tour worth it in my opinion. Venice is extremely busy in July and I wouldn't have seen the palace otherwise.

It was easy to find the meeting location. Way too many people in the group. Guide gave basic information and at time difficult to understand the English with his accent.

This place is just amazing. Adjoining the Basilica, it takes your breath away. Everything about Venice is magical but this tour was spectacular. The tour guide spoke perfect English and made the tour even more interesting with her humour. Crossing the Bridge of Sighs was an unexpected treat as well. If you get a chance to do this tour, do it, you will not regret it.

We were told to meet at a certain point in St Marks Square, an extremely busy place with thousands of people and loads of queues in different areas. Our tour team didn't arrive until exactly the time we were told to be there. Now like most people we arrived 5/10 minutes early and there was absolutely no sign of our tour reps etc. There was a tour rep from Viator who was actually waiting to take someone on another tour and he told me that our reps would be here soon. Once they arrived we were kitted up and then guided through the throngs and into the Palace. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us an excellent tour in perfect English. It was all very interesting but we only saw a fraction of the Palace, but at least we did go over the Bridge of Sighs and the dungeons. There is another tour showing the Secret Passages etc. which we'd like to do another time. I would advise you take the tour that covers St Marks Bassilica which is next door because of the two I thought the Bassilica the most impressive.

I downloaded the Viator app and organised this tour 2 hours prior to commencement which in itself was efficient and easy to organise. Meeting place easy to find and a pleasant welcome from guides . Tour was excellent with a well informed interesting guide. She bought history alive with interesting facts and the pace was good . I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the Doges Palace

As with most tours, this was really helpful in cutting through the chaos of too much, paring down to what is digestable. Bring your own headphones.
