Needs to talk louder!

The skip the line tour was exactly as I expected. The only real problem is that the woman leading the tour has a very quiet voice. She should carry a microphone so everyone can understand her directions. She was very hard to hear.

The tour office is located right outside of the train station. They speak English and are very kind and helpful. Everything started on time and there was no wait to enter. Highly recommend.

Versaille Audio Tour

Take the RER C to Versaille, a 30-40 min ride depending on your Paris stay. Meet across from the train station as your group is escorted to the Chateau and the separate group entrance. Your ticket and audio is then acquired and you are on your way. The wait was 30-45 minutes for general entry. I was told that this was a slow day. It would help if you research the Chateau a bit as to know where you would like to venture as the Chateau is pretty immense. A great visit and the Gardens are a must see.

A must have for your visit to Versailles

Think of this as your fast past at Disneyland only for Versailles. This is a must have in my opinion. The line without it is huge and you can wait for hours. I don't know why anyone would go to Versailles without this. Just do it. Seriously.

Very disappointing

Our guide as well as the staff at the museum purposely hid the fact that 3 out of 5 wings of the museum were closed and also that the amazing fountains that the gardens are known for only run on the weekends. I wouldn't have gone knowing this. We spent a lot of time and money to get there and then we're left with barely any of the content we came to see.

Disorganized

Skip the line was worth not having to wait and we definitely got through the process faster than not booking. However, it still took us way too long to get in due to lack of organization by the tour company. Guide herself was very nice. We booked for 11, was told to be there at 10:45, didn't leave the tour office until 11:20-11:30. Wasn't inside the palace until 12:30. Tour company had to buy tickets when we got there. Tour company gave half the group audio guide devices before they left the office and not the other half and had to wait longer for those. Conclusion: find a different company to help you skip the line.

You REALLY skip the line.

The location to meet and get your ticket was easy to find. It is on the street a block in front of Versailles. We followed our guide to a side entrance and passed hundreds of people standing in line. The process was quick and easy. Once inside, we were given our audio guides and left on our own. This was the best way to see Versailles.

DO NOT USE VIATOR

Do not use Viator. They overcharge. It cost €20 from the official Versailles site which includes an audio guide and get you to skip the line by picking a time of entry. We thought this website was the official website of Versailles, but it is not. Their “special entrance“ they present actually takes longer to get through than just skipping in the line with your regular pass from the chateau. This is because the entry time you pick Is actually the time that you are instructed to meet up approximately half a mile from the Château at which point you are brought to the special entrance which takes 30 min anyway. It is true you should buy your tickets ahead of time, to save time, but this is not the website to do it. I feel duped is a tourist and taken advantage by this company that spends more on advertising than actually helping people. I cannot express how disappointed my family and I were with Viator. I would never recommend this company for this experience as I would never use them myself again. Lesson learned first hand unfortunately. Once we got in (45 min after arriving where the line was itself only 15 min) however the chateau was lovely and I recommend going to Versailles the correct way. I hope my review reaches at least one person and saves them just a little bit a hassle and money.
