Make your way to the centrally located meeting point. Meet your guide and a small group of 12 people or fewer and head down the famous Graben boulevard en route to a coffee shop that has been serving fine Viennese brews since 1685.

Once properly caffeinated, satisfy your sweet tooth at a famous pastry shop and chocolatier, and then head to the hotel that claims fame for inventing the Viennese dessert Sachertorte, a chocolate cake with a layer of apricot jam and chocolate icing: learn how the kitchen churns out 500 a day.

Continue to the two open-air markets of Naschmarkt and Brunnenmarkt, getting recommendations for the hottest local eateries along the way, and spend time browsing stalls of colorful produce, sweet treats, and homewares. Plus, visit a tiny restaurant near the market to try fresh produce, fish, spices, and cheese.

Finish your tour with a private coffee tasting in a popular coffeehouse in trendy Neubau, Vienna's seventh district, where you bid farewell to your guide.

I highly recommend this tour. Verena was wonderful and we enjoyed some of the best food I had in Vienna. Our group was small and we had fun traveling through the city together. Verena provided excellent recommendations for off-the-beaten-path food, neighborhoods, and shopping in Vienna that greatly enhanced my overall experience of this remarkable city. Highly recommend.

Great Way to Spend a Morning in Vienna

Highly recommend this food tour. It was a nice leisurely 4 1/2 hour tour around the city both by walking and using trains and trams (you need to buy your own ticket). Great food stops along the way as well as some interesting facts and insights about the city and what we were walking past. Plenty of food and drink. I didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. We had about 6 stops to tried a variety of things from chocolate to wine to strudel to borek. It was all delicious. We had two great guides for our group of 8, Wolfie and John. Both were very knowledgeable and friendly and made some great suggestions of things to see and do and where to eat in the city. Fantastic tour!

Informative and Enthusiastic

That's how we would describe Patrick our guide. Other food tours were good but it was clear that the guide was following someones else's script. Patrick wrote his script. We went to a farmer's market in a Turkish neighborhood, a small bakery, to a corner food stop for special sausages,to a maker of artisinal vinegars every bit as complex as wines and then to Naschmarkt for world class cheeses and meats and finally for award wining chocolate. All the while being informed about Vienna and its heritage interesting foods.

Fantastic City/Food/Coffee tour

My wife and I had the pleasure to attend a fantastic food and coffee tour in Vienna. There were 10 people in our group and we had 2 tour guides. One a native Austrian who spoke excellent English and the other a Brit who has lived in Vienna for 12 years. The guides were awesome and because we had one guide per five people our questions were always answered and we could easily listen when others had questions. We walked, took the underground and also took buses to a number of different districts, each with a different ‘feel’. Wonderful food, wonderful coffee, lots to see and learn. Our guides were fantastic and made us all feel welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend this tour. It was the highlight of our trip to Vienna!
