Your tour will begin near Stephansplatz in central Vienna. Join up with your guide and begin your walk through the city.

Arrive first in the central square of Morzinplatz and hear the history of the Gestapo’s presence in Vienna. Examine the square’s memorial up close, which honors the city’s Jewish residents who were imprisoned during WWII.

Follow your guide through the Jewish Textile Quarter as you head to the Judenplatz Holocaust Memorial. Standing solitary in the city’s ‘Jewish Square,’ the memorial was designed by British artist Rachel Whiteread and is alternatively called the Nameless Library. The structure is made from concrete and steel and is dedicated to the 65,000 Austrian Jews that died in the Holocaust.

Your tour will conclude in Judenplatz, where you can continue exploring on your own in the nearby Jewish Museum if you wish.

This was an interesting tour but we felt that it should have included more information about the synagogues in Vienna. We deid see a lot of interesting sights and would recommend this tour.

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave a wonderful overview of Jewish history in Vienna. I had hoped to see more historical sites but the guide explained that most sites were bombed and destroyed during the War.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and had photos to show us of what the city looked like after the war. She also took us to many off the beaten track. However, she was in a hurry because she had another group right after ours and seemed very rushed at the end. I did read a suggestion here before I went that a tour of the synagogue before the walking tour was a must and I agree. I asked Viator about it and they said there were no tours but there are and are easily found on the temple's website. Don't miss it. It made the walking tour all that more meaning ful.

Exceptional!! Our guide was very informed, had lots of information to show us and took the time to go into detail about the history, buildings and monuments. She was so good that we gave her a round of applause and tipped her without her even mentioning tips. Our 1 1/2 tour lasted 3 hours. Ten Stars!

Barbara was brilliant. We were the only English speaking couple on the tour but Barbara took the time to translate everything for us, including questions in German. Her knowledge of the history of the Jews in Vienna was incredible, to the point that she could give a detailed, thoughtful analysis that went beyond any other history text or film on the topic. Truly outstanding.

I wrote in an email my thoughts of this trip. Matthias knew little about Judaism and some things he said were incorrect. A visit to the Synagogue should have been included. The walk was a time waster . Would not recommend it to any of my friends.
