Exciting & Deep

Detailed history info shared by enthusiastic well informed tour guide. Sights were interesting as well as beautiful: U S Capitol, The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, The Martin Luther King and The African American Civil War Memorials. Even the quick & simple sighting of childhood homes of Duke Ellington and Marvin Gaye was exciting and interesting to me. The Lincoln Park statues in tribute to Emancipation and Mary Bethune were icing in cake.

The USCT (US COLORED TROOPS) soldiers memorial & all the NAMES touched my heart, the Museum of African American History & Culture was amazing; Details from our guide Bill about MLK’s Dream speech and details about the MLK Memorial; the South FRONT door at the White House, the Civil War African American regiments Memorial, didn’t realize that Frederick Douglass father was a plantation owner & slave holder, that F. D.’s 2nd wife Helen Pitts Douglass was white or the work she did to save Cedar Hill house for future generations as a Memorial to F. Douglass, the Jazz Musicians & History of U street. Adam our driver saved us from an accident as a car whose back door was even w/ the front of our bus drifted into our lane.

All of the above. I've been to Washington DC several times both on tours and not on a tour. But have visited most of those locations. It is great when I receive additional information each time I attend. The tour guide, Mr. Harris, provided details that were very significant.

Very comfy ride. The person that gave the tour was very knowledgeable about Washington DC overall. After that tour me and my kids decided that we will revisit Washington DC again, because we had learn so much more on the tour and want to visit the places we learned about.

We boarded the wrong bus and no one checked or asked or said “this is the Blank tour.” We were an hour in before we realized it. The tour we took was very good but I can’t rate the african American tour.

The tour guide, Mr. Map as he referred to himself, was fun, energetic and a wealth of knowledge. He engaged my group of students( cadets) and they were delighted. He is a true asset to your company.

We bought the tour and we were called around 10:30 pm the night before and said they had bus trouble- we were able to get the passes via email. We arrived and went through the museum on our own ( which we could have done on our own anyway). I will be requesting a refund.

Disappointed

Our tour guide was wonderful but it was too long. The tour started at 10 am and ended at 4. This was too long for a family with kids. Very disappointed that we only got 1 hour at the museum. I do not recommend.
